In a landmark collaboration set to reshape the landscape of workplace wellness, the Human Resource Management Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HRMATT) has joined forces with Patient Connect, a digital health company, to launch its first-ever Wellness Hub.

This strategic partnership was confirmed on October 11, 2023, where HRMATT president Cavelle Joseph-St Omer, HR- MATT membership director Allsha Long and Patient Connect CEO Dr Navi Muradali signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The aim is to usher in a new era of employee health and well-being by offering innovative, chat-based care solutions to HRMATT’s esteemed membership.

HRMATT, the leading voice of dedicated human resource professionals in T&T, has long been committed to nurturing talent and fostering a thriving work environment.

Understanding the evolving needs of today’s workforce, HR- MATT has recognised the need to provide cutting-edge solutions that prioritise employee well-being to a workforce of over 600,000 people locally.

Hence, HRMATT has partnered with Patient Connect, a digital health innovator at the forefront of accessible and convenient healthcare, to roll out Wellness Hub to its membership.

This proprietary chat-based care platform connects employees with healthcare professionals in real-time, offering a wide range of fitness, health and wellness services, from mental health support, gym services and financial wellness, to nutritional guidance, pharmacy and even vet services, all accessible through a smartphone or computer.

Through this partnership, HR- MATT members will have the opportunity to implement Wellness Hub’s platform as part of their comprehensive employee wellness initiatives. This affordable and invaluable resource will empower employees to take proactive steps toward improving their physical and mental health, leading to a more engaged and satisfied workforce.

The global pandemic has irrevocably altered the way we work, live, and prioritise our health. With the emergence of remote work arrangements and a heightened awareness of the importance of mental well-being, employee wellness is no longer a luxury but a necessity.

Wellness Hub’s chat-based care model aligns perfectly with the evolving needs of today’s employees. It offers a confidential, accessible, and user-friendly platform for seeking professional health guidance, no matter where employees are located. Wellness Hub brings healthcare support directly to the fingertips of HRMATT’s member organisations.

Patient Connect’s chat-based care approach is uniquely positioned to address the diverse needs of employees.

In today’s fast-paced world, individuals often require immediate, personalised support. The platform connects users to qualified healthcare professionals who can provide guidance, support, and advice in real-time, with AI and metaverse enhancements which will be added soon.

The chat-based model also offers a discreet way for employees to seek help for mental health issues, reducing stigma and barriers associated with traditional counselling services. It’s a game-changer for organisations seeking to promote a culture of well-being.

Through this collaboration, HR- MATT’s members will gain access to a comprehensive suite of wellness solutions offered by Patient Connect. These include: • Mental Health Support: Access to licensed mental health professionals who can provide counselling, stress management, and emotional support provided by registered members of the Trinidad & Tobago Association of Psychologists (TTAP).

• Nutritional Guidance: Expert advice on maintaining a healthy diet, meal planning, and managing dietary concerns provided by registered members of the Trinidad & Tobago Association of Nutritionists & Dietitians (TTANDi).

• Physical Fitness: Exercise and fitness recommendations tailored to individual needs and goals from a well-curated listing of personal trainers, fitness clubs and gyms.

• Chronic Disease Management: Support for managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension by qualified medical professionals and specialists registered by the Medical Board of Trinidad & Tobago (MBTT) with a built-in premium health tracker service.

• 24/7 Availability: Round-the-clock access to care agents for immediate guidance.

• Health Education: Informative resources, articles and guidance on various health topics from local and global experts, including links to resources from the Family Planning Association of Trinidad & Tobago (FPATT) and Diabetes Association of Trinidad & Tobago (DATT) to name a few.

• Wellness Challenges: Engaging gamification, challenges and incentives to promote healthy lifestyles among employees through yoga, pilates and hiking providers among others.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in prioritising the health and well-being of the nation’s workforce.

By integrating digital health solutions into the workplace, HRMATT’s members are poised to create healthier, more engaged, and more productive teams. Employees will have the support they need to thrive in a changing world, ensuring that T&T remains at the forefront of workplace wellness and employee satisfaction.

As HRMATT and Patient Connect embark on this transformative journey, we invite all forward-thinking organisations to join in championing a healthier, happier, and more productive workforce using Wellness Hub.

Together, we can redefine employee wellness and set new standards for a brighter future.
